The final four songs recorded by jazz artist Jimmy Lyons in 2016, just three years before his passing. These demo tracks were in the works to be developed and performed with more backing instruments and played live around the San Francisco Bay Area. These songs remind us of Jimmy's passion pursuit of song writing and performing, in all their stripped down glory and remain as poetic reveries for us all to experience.

Legendary jazz artist once arrested in NYC at the Gaslight Cafe for his unique vocal style and acquitted with "the right to expand the boundaries of poetry." Jimmy Lyons wrote lyrics about myth, love, family and also penned a song for Johnny Mathis.

A predecessor to hip hop & contemporary to Cecil Taylor, his talents extend to the Actor's Studio.
